The tour begins with a hosted breakfast and a presentation at the American Legion Hall in Nezperce\, followed by several stops at UI wheat\, barley\, pea\, and winter canola variety trials and research plots. The UI winter canola variety trial stop will feature Dr. Kamal Khadka\, the new leader of the UI Brassica Breeding & Research Program\, and PNWCA director Chris Riggers and exec director Karen Sowers. \nParticipants need to pre-register by June 20 by calling the Lewis County Extension Office at 208-937-2311.

DESCRIPTION:We are partnering with Croplan (Winfield) and having a two-stop tour that will include our PNWCA farmer trial at Kopf Farms AND a hands-on educational session at Clark Farms north of Albion. The tour begins at 9:00am on Wednesday\, June 28 at our TruFlex variety trial (https://goo.gl/maps/Uzp3vbuZFoigY8o56). \nThe variety trial has 13 different TruFlex spring canola hybrids from 8 seed companies in a large plots. Seed company reps will provide cultivar specific details and the Kopfs will share about growth and development observations since planting.  We’ll head to the next stop near Kamiak Butte where agronomy experts from Croplan will cover chemical and crop rotation\, insect pest management\, and other canola production topics. A catered lunch will follow the tour.
