PNWCA canola stop ‘n’ talks – Palouse and Prairie May 20, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

We’ll be having two stop ‘n’ talk tours today – the first will begin at 9 a.m. at a large-scale TruFlex strip trial at Kopf Farms near Pullman (https://goo.gl/maps/w938cMqgPcYJ7MPRA). We’ll take a look at emergence differences between the entries and hear from seed reps about each cultivar. There are also comparisons between seeding speed and rate, and tillage.  Other topics we’ll talk about include black leg management, marketing, weed control, and plant population. Q&A is highly encouraged!  *** Please note this is a dirt, not gravel road, and we will need to park on the road.  We will have signage to make this a one-way road during the tour.  Cars leaving will make the loop back to the main road. 

The afternoon tour will be at Clearwater Farms near Nezperce at 2 p.m. – this one will feature a UI winter canola variety trial, canola disease research, and several PNWCA farmer trials looking at tillage, fertilizer timing and source, and residue management in spring canola. We’ll stay as long as needed to answer all your questions, and again, discussion is encouraged!
